Headteacher's Welcome

Hello and welcome to our Internet home and on behalf of the pupils, staff and governors of Laburnum Grove Junior School may I welcome you to our website. Please stay  for  a while and look around.

Our site changes quite regularly so please remember to refresh the pages or press the F5 button to update them.

Our school is situated in Bognor Regis near the city of Chichester in the county of West Sussex, UK and has been serving the children of this community since 1967 when the school was built to replace the old village school in North Bersted.

In our last OFSTED Inspection, the school was "recognised as being an effective and highly appreciated partner in bringing about much change for the better in the local community, for example in improved behaviour and increased contribution to local projects." I am very proud to say that our children attained a score of  1   for behaviour. The highest score of 1 means 'outstanding'.

This was one of the reasons among others that prompted our parents and carers to vote for a change in our uniform colour from the start of this term as most others were of the standard navy blue. The new colours reflect the colours of the school and are of an attractive jade green for the tops and polo shirts with sky blue T shirts for our PE kit.

Photos of our new uniform colours will be on the website soon.

Our team commitment to inclusion and raising standards for all pupils is well known and is an integral part of our ethos. Our aim is for all pupils to be able to achieve their full potential in all areas of school life.

We work very hard to ensure the children achieve high standards and that no child is left behind. We want our pupils to experience a broad and balanced curriculum and not just the core subjects of Mathematics, English, Science and Information Technology. As you can see from our consistent results however, the cores are still considered as very important subjects.

As a school we are committed to a strong working partnership with our  parents and carers, staff and governors so that each individual pupil should gain maximum benefit from their four years of education with us.

If you would like more information about our school and its achievements please look around our website and do contact our school office if you have a query.

I know that many schools buy in a ready made website, which is why I am very proud of and grateful to our ICT Staff and children whom I asked to produce this website. Why not email us and let our ICT Club know what you think?

Mrs P.N. Otton,

Headteacher,
Laburnum Grove Junior School,
